Just a reminder that the CUPE dues refunds for affected members will be included on the June 4 pay.
Following an extensive audit, it was determined that some former MGEU members were impacted by a discrepancy in union dues calculations during the transition from MGEU to CUPE. As union dues are calculated and deducted differently between the two unions, adjustments were required to ensure members were charged correctly.
How do you know if you were affected?
When reviewing your pay stub, some refunds will be easy to identify, as they will appear as a negative CUPE dues deduction. (-$0.00)
For others, the refund may be applied against the current pay period’s dues. For example, if your refund is $10 and your regular CUPE dues for the period are $25, your pay stub will show a CUPE deduction of $15 rather than $25.
